Leaflet distribution: News Share, Share Plan and Solus
Deciding your company would benefit from a leaflet distribution is an easy call, working out which type is the best for you is the tricky part.
With that in mind, we’ve prepared a brief overview to the types available and the key selling points of each one.
There are three main types of leaflet distribution available: News Share, Share Plan and Solus.
News Share is when your leaflets are delivered within the free weekly paper. The key advantages of this option are that it is by far the cheapest, and it is also a good way to gain national coverage. However, there is a significant price to pay for the reduced cost. A drop in reliability of delivery is inevitable, and leaflets that arrive within the middle of a 50-page newspaper are going to have to work a lot harder to grab the attention of any potential customers.
Share Plan sees your leaflets delivered alongside a small number (usually 3) of other non-competing leaflets. This option is cost-effective and gives you a lot of exposure. Your leaflet will not have to work so hard to grab attention as with News Share, and you can also target specific groups as small as 500-1000 homes, allowing you to focus the campaign on where your target market really is.
Solus is the Rolls Royce of leaflet distribution, with a price to match. Your leaflet is delivered on its own, and you can narrow down your target market to groups of 250-500 homes. This type of delivery will deliver the most enquiries, but you will pay between £75.00 and £120.00 per thousand for it.
When deciding which delivery option is right for you, the key thing to consider is the value of each sale and the size of your target market.
If you have very few potential customers per 1000 homes but each sale is worth a lot of money then Solus would be the best option. But if you, for instance, MOT cars then even if Solus gave you a 30% better response you probably wouldn’t make a big enough return on investment to warrant the extra cost so Share Plan would be better for you.
